These cuties have all found good homes!

AST has a very successful Adoption and Rescue program for unwanted and rescued birds. These birds are donated to AST by bird owners who can no longer keep their birds for any of a number of reasons

Club members who are interested in adopting a bird must complete an application form. The committee then reviews all applications for each bird and decides on what they feel will be the best possible home for each bird. Many points are taken into consideration such as experience of the applicant with the type of bird, housing available, proper care, reason for wanting the bird, and willingness to do what is best for the bird.

Adopted birds are not to be sold. If the adoptive "parents" cannot keep the bird, it is returned to AST to be adopted to a new family. Follow-up is done by committee members to assure the bird is being cared for properly.
